The Admissions Process Step-by-Step
for Degree & Non-Degree Applicants

Picture
Step 1: Read through the Seminary FAQ and the Admissions Process pages. These already contain the answers to many questions. If you still have questions about applying that have not been answered, then email them to Father Brian Gregory.

Step 2: Download and fill-out an application. Send it in right away as you collect the rest of the paperwork required for your degree program.

Step 3: Once you have submitted all of the paperwork required for your degree, allow the admissions office 48 hours to go through your paperwork.

Step 4: The admissions office will email you and inform you of your acceptance, of any obstacles to admission, or of any additional materials and/or steps you need to take.

Step 5: Once you and the school have determined that all of your requirements for admissions have been met and you receive your letter of acceptance, you will be sent a link to the school registration page. Here you will choose and pay for your classes.

Step 6: Once you have applied to and paid for all of your classes, you will receive an email syllabus from the professor no later than 1 to 2 weeks before your classes begin. The syllabus will explain how the class is laid out. You will also receive an invitation to the instructor's Google Classroom. This is where all lectures, materials, Zoom meeting invites, communication, discussion, etc. will take place during the course. It is important that all students have a Google Gmail account to join the classroom.

Different instructors may use different structures or even lecture delivery systems. Always abide by the professors instructions for coursework and classroom technology procedures, even if that information conflicts with what the school has mentioned previously.

Step 7: The instructors will begin meeting with you. All lectures are recorded. However, some instructors have required meeting times aside from lectures. Some courses are self-paced and others are not. It all depends on how the professor has structured their course. However, all coursework must be completed and turned in by the semester deadline. Professors may require work be turned in sooner than that date if they have a pressing reason.

Step 8: Grades will be sent to your email along with an anonymous form to fill out answering satisfaction questions about the course.

Registration for courses is allowed up to the first day of classes.

The Admissions Process Step-by-Step for Applicants to Individual Courses Who are not Seeking a Degree

Step 1: Fill out a non-matriculating application and send it in along with any additional paperwork required.

**An application is required every time you wish to take a course. There is a section of the application where you can indicate you're applied before.

Step 2: Once the application has been received, you will receive a link to the course registration page. You can choose your courses and pay on that page.

Step 3: Once you have applied to and paid for all of your classes, you will receive an email syllabus from the professor no later than 1 to 2 weeks before your classes begin.

Step 4: It is assumed that non-matriculating students are not taking a course for a grade and so graded assignments (other than discussion questions which can enhance your learning experience by participating) are not required of non-matriculating students. However, if you wish to challenge yourself and submit coursework, inform the instructor of your intention and request that your work be read and assessed.

Step 5: The instructors will begin meeting with you. All lectures are recorded. However, some instructors have required meeting times aside from lectures. Some courses are self-paced and others are not. It all depends on how the professor has structured their course. However, all coursework that you have decided to participate in must be completed and turned in by the semester deadline. Professors may require work be turned in sooner than that date if they have a pressing reason.

Step 8: Grades, if you have requested them, will be sent to your email. All students, regardless of their matriculation status, will be sent a link to fill out an anonymous form indicating their overall satisfaction with the course.

Registration for courses is allowed up to the first day of classes.

What is the AAOCC?

The American Apostolic Old Catholic Church is an Independent Catholic Jurisdiction not bound by the legal and jurisdictional authority of the Roman Pope, possessing valid sacraments, a valid priesthood, and a valid Eucharist. Because we are not bound by the legal pronouncements of Rome, we are free to include a female priesthood, married priesthood, and the full inclusion of the LGBTQ+ community to all seven scriptural sacraments, including marriage and Holy Orders. We are theologically orthodox and liturgically conservative while maintaining an open and inclusive membership. Our website is: www.americanoldcatholic.org.
